The project is supposed to be established at a hospital emergency department that provides care to patients throughout the year. The service area includes two counties around Texas. The participants involved will include patients below the age of 18 years that present to the ED triage that have a possibility of sepsis as well as a news score of less than 3. Furthermore, the project will be structured around the development of a comparison of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) before and after the initiation of the protocol (Brownson et al., 2017). This will include the compliance of nurses with the sepsis protocol as well as the initial contact established. Before the implementation is conducted, an approval form from the administrator will have to be obtained. Patient confidentiality will be prioritized and maintained in which any information acquired will be geared towards the selection of subjects.
The timeline for this project will be 16 months. This will ensure that the implementation process as well as the data collection for the EMRs. As for the resources used, they will facilitate the increased efficiency in the healthcare processes (Thorne, 2016). In this regard, resources such as information technology, educative materials, and personnel will require a substantial amount of funding. The instruments and methods to be used will include data entry measures such as the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
For intervention, the project will be multi-faceted that begins with identification of the most appropriate information concerning the care for patients with sepsis at its different levels of severity. Various strategies will be applied to the implementation of this project. These strategies will be geared towards the assertion of the proposed skills, attitudes, and knowledge of nurses. The feasibility of the implementation of this project is structured around cost, personnel, skills, and attitude. The knowledge of clinicians translates into their capability of practicing the research while personnel costs will be aimed at ensuring the effective implementation of this project.
