In 500-750 words, develop an evaluation plan to be included in your final evidence-based practice project. Provide the following criteria in the evaluation, making sure it is comprehensive and concise:
Describe the rationale for the methods used in collecting the outcome data.
Describe the ways in which the outcome measures evaluate the extent to which the project objectives are achieved.
Describe how the outcomes will be measured and evaluated based on the evidence. Address validity, reliability, and applicability.
Describe strategies to take if outcomes do not provide positive results.
Describe implications for practice and future research.
You are required to cite three to five sources to complete this assignment. Sources must be published within the last 5 years and appropriate for the assignment criteria and nursing content.
Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

Evidence-Based Practice Proposal
Evidence-Based Practice Proposal
The project is supposed to be established at a hospital emergency department that provides care to patients throughout the year. The service area includes two counties around Texas. The participants involved will include patients below the age of 18 years that present to the ED triage that have a possibility of sepsis as well as a news score of less than 3. Furthermore, the project will be structured around the development of a comparison of the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) before and after the initiation of the protocol (Brownson et al., 2017). This will include the compliance of nurses with the sepsis protocol as well as the initial contact established. Before the implementation is conducted, an approval form from the administrator will have to be obtained. Patient confidentiality will be prioritized and maintained in which any information acquired will be geared towards the selection of subjects.
The timeline for this project will be 16 months. This will ensure that the implementation process as well as the data collection for the EMRs. As for the resources used, they will facilitate the increased efficiency in the healthcare processes (Thorne, 2016). In this regard, resources such as information technology, educative materials, and personnel will require a substantial amount of funding. The instruments and methods to be used will include data entry measures such as the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
For intervention, the project will be multi-faceted that begins with identification of the most appropriate information concerning the care for patients with sepsis at its different levels of severity. The screening tools for sepsis will also be added to the system in such a way that they include the news score (Tracy, 2019). This will facilitate the activation of codes for sepsis alert while all the medical personnel will be trained on the protocol steps. As for data collection, it will include the SIRS criteria, NEWS score, and screening information as well as nurse compliance with the involved protocol components. The primary results will be based on nurse compliance whereas the secondary ones will include the length of stay, ICU admissions, and mortality rates (Munn et al., 2018). The whole process will be conducted in such a way that patient confidentiality and discretion is maintained. The implementation process will be conducted using a chi square test
Various strategies will be applied to the implementation of this project. These strategies will be geared towards the assertion of the proposed skills, attitudes, and knowledge of nurses. One of these strategies is the use of online systems with the aim of obtaining databases that enhance the awareness on effective communication. The feasibility of the implementation of this project is structured around cost, personnel, skills, and attitude. The knowledge of clinicians translates into their capability of practicing the research while personnel costs will be aimed at ensuring the effective implementation of this project. The computer related costs will be incurred based on the development and application of the SPSS program as well as the inclusion of a NEWS score trigger (Schneider et al., 2016). The team responsible for the project will determine its level of efficiency through the implementation of ED protocols. In case the protocol is deemed ineffective, it will be terminated. To ensure that all the involved personnel are have updated protocols and are using the most appropriate evidence in practice, education will be provided and ongoing.
